Fractured Tooth

This patient had a fractured tooth due to an accident on her bicycle. One of the most challenging things to perform in cosmetic dentistry is to match a single porcelain restoration to an adjacent natural tooth. Much detail needs to be provided to the ceramist with intraoral photography and proper shade matching to include characterization within the tooth.

To mimic nature at this level is indeed a challenge, especially the front tooth. Communication with the lab ceramist and the dentist is of utmost importance to create the desired outcome to mimic a natural tooth in color, brightness, translucency, texture and characterization. This great outcome was achieved because of proper information being provided to the ceramist. This broken tooth was restored using a single EMAX porcelain crown.
